October's Parent Teacher Home Visits Training

Training Team: Laura Weiss, Jaimie Dobson, Sonia Nobre Lacerda, Megan Quinlan, & Chris Mulroney

Barbieri had TEN staff members at this training!

Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Tremblay and Chris Mulroney for your support!

Deepening relationships with families is one of the three district strategic priorities in the FPS Strategic Plan 2023-2030. Thank you to Dr. Tremblay and Christine Mulroney for the partnership and financial support which makes our home visits program possible!

Payroll is not able to label what any additional hours are when they show up on your pay check; just a dollar amount appears, so staff members need to do some math!

How to Figure Out Additional Hours in Your Paycheck

New School Log / Procedure to Get Paid

  • Site coordinators will be sharing a log at your school as well as communicating more detailed information about home visits within the first weeks of the school year.
  • Each staff member going on the home visit must fill in their first and last name, employee number, and date and time of the visit on the school’s home visits log before the visit happens. This information is used for the group billhead submitted by the district coordinator.
  • In order to confirm that the planned home visit took place and be paid, the caregivers’ hopes & dreams for their child (column D of the school log) must be completed after the visit (by the conclusion of the next school day.)
  • Staff members cannot go on a home visit alone. This is non negotiable. Staff must go in pairs.
  • The only time that three staff members get paid for a visit is when the third person is needed for language support.
  • Sibling visits will no longer count as more than one visit. Regardless of how many siblings are in the family, it will count as one visit.
  • Weekly submission of group billhead:
    • Window closes every Thursday.
    • Required information from all schools' logs is input into a group billhead between Friday and Sunday and is submitted to payroll Monday morning.
    • Any visit that happens on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will be included in the following week's bill head.
